Biographies
Max is passionate about cooking. While never having written about cooking, Max has just turned 18, and as a grown ass man has begun to experiment with both cooking and cleaning, activities previously beyond his grasp. He hopes through the course of this blog to develop his cooking abilities in the exciting environment of low pay and short hours that is college. Between classes he’s going to bring some fun and engaging recipes and snacks for those with little time and less money to the blog. Sports and working out are big parts of this writer’s life, as even he occasionally (read, often) does not make the wisest choices. He hopes that this blog will be an engaging learning experience for his readers, as the follow or just read through a first hand perspective of a freshman on the ground. His motto is perennially “Keep fit, keep happy, and beat Duke!”
Steven Deepee is currently a student and blog co-author attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Steven has many hobbies ranging from playing table tennis, basketball, frisbee, and various card games to just hanging out with friends. Steven’s favorite food is Red Velvet Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. In addition to food, Steven specifically is interested in writing about sports (particularly college and NBA basketball), business, economics, personal experiences, entertainment, and other various and more random subjects. At the moment he is an introductory writer but looks to expand his writing horizons so that he can write regarding numerous other intriguing subjects. Thus far, his main writing has consisted of social media posts, research papers, document based writing, and organizational bylaws for a few clubs/organizations that he has been a part of. He loves to convey his passion through his writing for the things that he is especially excited about. Through writing about his personal adventures and experiences Steven truly believes that he will be able to connect to his audience and interest them. He is on Facebook and Twitter as well.
Isabelle Haddad was born in San Diego, California in November of 1994. However she spent most of her youth in Florida after her family moved to Palm Beach in 1996. Isabelle attended a Catholic elementary school until the family moved once again to the city of Jupiter where she then attended The Benjamin School throughout her middle school and high school career.
Throughout a lot of Isabelle’s childhood and young adulthood she enjoyed to sing and therefore continued to do so throughout high school. Singing is still something Isabelle loves to do as she feels it is a form of relaxation, and also a way for her to reflect on certain things. Along with singing, Isabelle also danced throughout most of her childhood until about seventh grade. Most important, Isabelle cares a great deal about her health and about eating as well as she can as she enters a new chapter in her life: college.
Currently, Isabelle studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she hopes to major in some area of Business. Most important to Isabelle regarding her writing is to establish in the blog a sense of herself while also making it convenient, easy, and enjoyable for readers. Isabelle is open to any suggestions readers may have to better the blog in any way.
Cole Wagner was born and raised in Morehead City, North Carolina and growing up in a coastal town, has always loved being around the water. He is an avid hunter and fisherman and mostly enjoys offshore fishing for billfish and open water duck hunting. Among other things, Cole played tennis throughout his high school career and is an Eagle Scout.
Aside from this, Cole enjoys cooking and of course eating really good food. He is very interested in the effects that food has on people and the effects people have on food. Being an author on this blog allows him to explore this interest as well as learn more about a thus far unstudied subject. His additions will always be relevant to the topic at hand and written in a way that a reader will almost certainly be able to understand through his unique style. He will always work to dissect this interesting subject and hopes for readers to become interested in it in the same way he is.
Lacy Rardin was born in Asheville, NC, and she lived there all of her life. She is a born and bred Tar heel and not only is she excited to be a student at this fine university, she is also excited to be one of four co-authors of this unique blog. From a young age, Lacy expressed a strong interest in dance. From jazz and tap to ballet, Lacy loved being on stage. Her other interests include listening to music, hanging out with friends, and cheering on her favorite Tar Heels on the basketball court. Coming from a family with two older brothers, Lacy’s house was always stocked with food and her mom cooked every meal each night. Needless to say, Lacy’s transition into the dining hall lifestyle has been a bit of a struggle. Lacy loves to eat (especially sweets) and she’s excited to discuss the topic of food on a much deeper level. While Lacy may be a novice blog writer, she has spent many years learning how to write effective research papers, style analysis essays, as well as argumentative essays. Lacy hopes to take these skills she has mastered and use them to develop a fun, interesting, and informative blog.
